General quotations, bookings & coverage
Request a quotation →Are quotations free?
Yes. We provide free, no-obligation quotations for work we are able to assess and undertake. Straightforward jobs can often begin with photographs and a postcode; larger or more complex work may require a site visit.
Do you work for both domestic and commercial customers?
Yes. Five Willows supports homes, businesses, schools, managed properties and commercial sites. The scope, access arrangements and documentation are adjusted to suit the type of site and work required.
Why don't you publish one fixed price for every service?
Because two jobs that look similar online can require very different labour, preparation, access, waste handling, equipment or materials. We would rather give you a realistic written quotation than advertise a headline price that does not reflect the actual work.
Can I send photographs for a quotation?
Yes. Photographs, a postcode and a short description are often enough for an initial assessment. Where access, condition, waste volume, height or commercial requirements cannot be judged reliably, we may recommend a visit.
What areas do you cover?
Our regular coverage includes Merseyside, Wirral, West Lancashire, Wigan, Warrington, Halton, Chester and wider Cheshire locations including Neston, Tarporley, Winsford, Knutsford and Frodsham. Larger commercial work can sometimes be considered further afield. View our full Areas We Cover page.
Garden & Grounds Maintenance
Explore service →What can grounds maintenance include?
The agreed programme can include grass cutting, edging, hedge and shrub work, seasonal pruning, border care, weed control, leaf clearance, litter picking and final blow-downs. Your quotation sets out the exact tasks and frequency.
Can I book a one-off visit rather than a contract?
Yes. One-off tidy-ups and seasonal work can be quoted separately. Regular programmes are more appropriate where a property or site needs consistent presentation throughout the year.
How often should maintenance visits take place?
It depends on the season, growth rate and standard required. Spring and summer often need more frequent attention, with winter visits shifting towards pruning, leaves, borders and general presentation.
Can poor weather affect a scheduled visit?
Yes. Waterlogged ground, frost, high winds or heavy rain can make some tasks ineffective or damaging. Where necessary we may adjust the task list or rearrange work rather than damage the ground or operate equipment unsafely.
Domestic Home Cleaning
Explore service →What is the difference between a regular clean and a deeper clean?
Regular cleaning maintains an already manageable home against an agreed checklist. A deeper clean allows more time for built-up dirt, detailed edges and areas that are not normally included in a routine visit.
Can I book weekly, fortnightly or one-off cleaning?
Yes, subject to availability and location. Regular visits can be arranged around an agreed frequency, while one-off cleaning can support events, moving, seasonal refreshes or extra household support.
Do you bring cleaning products and equipment?
This can be included and agreed before the first visit. Please tell us about allergies, preferred products, pets or delicate surfaces so we can plan the service appropriately.
Do you clean external windows?
The domestic cleaning service is focused on internal home cleaning. Reachable internal glass and mirrors can be included where agreed; external window cleaning is not currently part of the standard service.
Pressure Washing
Explore service →Can every surface be pressure washed?
No. Surface type, age, condition, pointing and any existing coatings need to be considered first. Fragile or pressure-sensitive surfaces may require soft washing or another method instead.
Will pressure washing remove every stain or black spot?
Moss, algae and general build-up can often be improved significantly, but black lichen, oil, rust, paint and deeply absorbed contamination may need separate treatment and cannot be guaranteed to disappear completely.
Do you re-sand block paving?
Yes, where appropriate it can be included separately in the quotation. The paving normally needs to dry before suitable kiln-dried sand is brushed back into the joints.
Do you offer sealing after cleaning?
Sealing can be discussed as separately quoted follow-on work where the paving and existing coatings are suitable. It is not treated as an automatic extra on every pressure-washing job.
Lawn Care & Renovation
Explore service →What can a lawn renovation include?
Depending on the lawn, renovation can include scarifying, aeration, overseeding, feeding, top-dressing, levelling small imperfections and practical aftercare. We assess the existing grass and soil before recommending the work.
When is renovation better than laying new turf?
If a reasonable amount of viable grass remains and the levels and soil are fundamentally sound, renovation can be more proportionate than replacing the entire lawn. Severe contamination, major level changes or failed ground may point towards returfing instead.
Can you improve patchy or pet-damaged lawns?
Often, yes, but the cause needs to be considered first. Repeated pet damage, compaction, shade, drainage or poor soil can continue to affect new growth unless the underlying issue is also managed.
When is the best time for lawn renovation?
Renovation is normally most effective when soil temperatures and moisture support germination and recovery. Exact timing depends on the work required and weather conditions, so we will advise on the practical window for the lawn.
Turfing & Planting
Explore service →What should a turfing quotation include?
The quotation should make clear what is included for removal, ground preparation, soil improvement or topsoil, levelling, turf supply and laying, edging, initial watering and waste. Preparation is a major part of the finished result.
Can new turf fix poor drainage?
No. Minor soil improvement and levels can sometimes be addressed during preparation, but persistent waterlogging may need drainage or excavation work before a new lawn is sensible.
How soon can I walk on a new lawn?
Routine foot traffic should be avoided until the turf has rooted into the soil and no longer lifts easily. Weather, soil and watering all influence how quickly that happens.
Who is responsible for watering after turf is laid?
Ongoing establishment watering is normally the customer's responsibility unless a separate arrangement is agreed. Consistent moisture is essential while the roots establish, particularly during dry or warm periods.
Garden Clearances
Explore service →What can a garden clearance include?
Clearance can include cutting back overgrowth, brambles and weeds, removing dead plants and loose garden debris, clearing agreed borders, reducing manageable shrubs and collecting green waste. The quotation confirms what stays, what goes and any exclusions.
Do you take the waste away?
Waste removal can be included where agreed. The quotation should identify the expected waste volume, disposal arrangement and any materials that need a different or specialist disposal route.
What happens if hazardous or unexpected waste is found?
Items such as asbestos, sharps, unknown chemicals or certain invasive plants cannot simply be mixed into normal garden waste. Work may need to stop in that area while the correct specialist handling or disposal route is identified.
Can you prepare the garden for turfing or planting afterwards?
Yes. Clearance can be the first stage of a larger transformation, with ground preparation, levelling, topsoil, turfing and planting quoted as a separate follow-on scope.
Soft Washing & Render Cleaning
Explore service →How is soft washing different from pressure washing?
Pressure washing mainly uses mechanical force on suitable robust surfaces. Soft washing uses lower pressure with an appropriate treatment and dwell time for more delicate or organically stained surfaces. Render should not simply be blasted at close range.
Is soft washing safe for render?
It is generally the more appropriate approach for many rendered surfaces, but cracked, hollow, loose, poorly painted or already failing render can still be vulnerable. Existing defects need to be considered before treatment.
Will all staining disappear immediately?
Not always. Some organic staining improves during the visit while other marks continue to fade as the treatment works and the surface weathers. Old, deep or non-organic staining may remain.
How do you protect plants and surrounding areas?
The surrounding property is assessed before treatment. Planting, lawns, glazing, metalwork and adjoining surfaces can require pre-wetting, controlled application, protection and thorough rinsing, with runoff managed carefully.
Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning
Explore service →What can Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning include?
Depending on the material and condition, the service can include carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning plus targeted spot treatment where appropriate. We assess the item before choosing the method.
Do you always use the same machine or cleaning method?
No. Fibre type, construction, colour stability, level of soiling and the manufacturer's care guidance all matter. Extraction, low-moisture or steam-based methods are used only where suitable.
Can every stain be removed?
No. Many stains can be improved significantly, but age, previous treatments, dye transfer, bleaching and permanent fibre damage can limit the result. We avoid promising complete removal where that cannot be guaranteed.
How long will carpets or upholstery take to dry?
Drying time depends on the material, room temperature, ventilation, moisture level and method used. We will give practical aftercare advice and explain when the cleaned area is ready for normal use.
Gutter & Roofline Cleaning
Explore service →What does gutter and roofline cleaning include?
The scope can include gutter clearing and cleaning, accessible downpipe checks, fascia and soffit cleaning and suitable roofline or conservatory-roof cleaning. The written quotation confirms exactly what is included.
Do you clean roofs?
We do not offer full roof cleaning as part of this service. The focus is gutter and roofline care, including fascias, soffits and suitable conservatory roofs where access and condition allow.
How are gutters cleared?
Where suitable, gutters can be cleared using professional vacuum equipment from ground level, with access and condition assessed first. Different properties may require a different safe approach.
How often should gutters be checked?
It depends on nearby trees, roof design, bird activity and how quickly debris builds up. Properties surrounded by mature trees may need attention more often than open sites.
How pricing works
The job determines the price.
We deliberately do not use one universal price list for work where size, condition, access, materials, waste or frequency can change the amount of work significantly. Any figures discussed before assessment are guidance; the written quotation confirms the agreed scope and price.
The amount of work genuinely required, team size, frequency and expected finish.
Turf, topsoil, seed, treatments, sand, cleaning equipment, access systems or specialist machinery where relevant.
Parking, carrying distance, disposal, water access, height and site-specific working arrangements.

Help us quote efficiently
Four things make the first assessment much easier.
For many straightforward jobs, good information and photographs can be enough to start the quotation process. Larger, unusual or commercial work may still need a site visit.
Still have a question about the work or the price?
Send the postcode, a short description and photographs where useful. We will point you towards the right service, confirm whether a visit is needed and explain the next step.
